Do Horses need rugs?

In our opinion, horses do not need warming rugs as long  as they are allowed to live out with plenty of available shelter. The coat & the horses organism slowly adjust to temperature and given weather situations - a rug to warm them up is not necessary. We, all to often, confuse our prefered temperature with that of a horse - a horse, depending on breed, is at his happiest at 4degree Celsius!

However, you should never return a sweaty horse to his field or stable - a good functioning Anti-Sweat/Cooler Rug is essential,especially on windy days to prevent chills on sweating horses as they cool down after exercise.
