    Barefoot® 'Contour Physio' Bridle

    Barefoot® - Designed FOR Horses!

    The solution: Not only for sensitive horses! For all styles of riding and lunging.

    The Barefoot® 'Contour Physio' bridle can be precisely fitted to the horse's head as it is of a totally different design to traditional bridles.
     
    A. The Contour poll area is shaped forward so that no pressure is applied to the sensitive area behind the ears where a nerve trunk attaches to the occipital bone.
    The headpiece is softly padded and curved around the horse's ears - the ears have room, the headpiece nestles softly.

    B. The cheek pieces and throat lash are thought through and fitted to the horse's head in a different way. The cheek pieces fork out, this y-shape prevents slipping: the horse's eye stays free! The bridle can be precisely fitted to the horse's head and stays in place.

    The Barefoot® 'Contour Physio' bridle has many uses:
    1. with Barefoot® 'Shape-It' noseband or Cavesson for bitless riding or lunging
    2. with Barefoot® 'Shape-It' noseband or Cavesson + bit straps for riding and lunging with bit.
    3. with hackamore or bosal
    4. with bit (simply attach bit to the left and right)
    5. ...many more possibilities

    0 (Pony): length adjustable from 84 -96 cm, browband 41cm
    1 (Cob - Thoroughbred) :length adjustable from 91-107cm, browband 42 cm
    2 (Full - Warmblood) length adjustable from 98-118cm, browband 43cm
    3 (Drafthorse) length adjustable from 107-123cm, browband 45cm
     
    Explanation to measurement: the length was measured from left to right towards the mouth over the poll in a straight line.

    Barefoot Bridle Contour

    This anatomically-shaped and patented headpiece is the ideal solution for sensitive horses. The special form of the Barefoot-Contour headpiece means that no pressure is exerted on the sensitive area between the horse's ears, the occipital bone. The middle part of the headpiece has been formed in a curve, so that it bends forwards and comes to lie in front of the base of the horse’s nuchal ligament. The area around the ears is cut out and cushioned with soft padding.

    Love this headstall! I, too, have a Connemara pony whose regular snaffle bridle was a custom made up of a horse, cob and pony sized pieces. This headstall adjusts to her perfectly! I did purchase the noseband, but it was far too big and heavy for her, so I sold it to somebody who had a horse that fit the size. I ended up having to buy the nose piece from a different supplier who happened to have the matching light tan padding. I am planning to purchase another headstall for my other mare soon.

    I bought this head piece for my Connemara filly and really like it: it fits her well, the quality and make is very good. I only wish now I'd bought a different nose band system - I went for the Barefoot Bitless bit and associated components, which does not quite work for me and now wonder if I should not have gotten the "shape-it" nose band. Anyway, what I am really so far impressed with is the quality of all the Barefoot products I have bought so far.

    I bought this bridle for my bitless noseband and am very pleased with it. She is only 6 and had a bad start in life so want her to have the kindest tack I can give her. Just looking at this bridle makes me think I'm definitely on the right track. Thank you.

    Absolutely over the moon with this bridle, my horse has been bitless for over a year now so decided to treat her to a nice quality bitless bridle and that's exactly what this is! 100% recommend.

    Barefoot Physio bridle with the Barefoot 'Shape It' Noseband is an excellent fit. Curved to fit around the ears and the under cheek strap is nicely placed making sure the noseband doesn't slip round. I haven't ridden my new horse yet but he was very fussy in his mouth with a bit so hopefully he will settle now. I need to add rein cues for flexion before riding him. The quality is excellent as I would expect from a Barefoot product. As usual the service was excellent, thank you Katja.
