Reins Mecate

Barefoot mecate reins

Mecate offered in braided nylon

Mecate reins are traditonally used with either bosals or knotted rope halters.

1. The mecate made of real hair has a stronger effect on the horse's neck. The hair is deliberately braided brickly to encourage a light response for neck reigning. Therefore riding gloves are tradionally used with real hair mecate. Leather flap at the end.

2. Mecate made of braided nylon has a much softer feel and effect. It can, for example, replace the real hair version once horse has been well schooled. The nylon mecate laso has other uses (e.g as lead rope, lungeing rope ..) Mecate has a decorative tassel with rawhide deocration on one end and a leather flap on the other.

Do not fear tying the mecate! Clear instructions are included with both the nylon and the hair version.
